Google Launches ChatGPT For Healthcare

Google has launched ChatGPT-like Chatbot MultiMediaQA for healthcare. It was specifically designed to answer medical queries. Big techs have been playing with large language models such as GPT-3 or PaLM for a while now. Google joined the party recently as a result of Open AI.

How it works

it gets really nerdy here but bare with me:

MultiMedQA provides datasets for multiple-choice questions, and for longer responses to questions posed by medical professionals, and non-professionals. These comprise the clinical topics datasets for MedQA, MedMCQA, PubMedQA, LiveQA, MedicationQA, and MMLU. In addition, a new dataset of curated, frequently searched medical inquiries called HealthSearchQA was added to improve MultiMedQA.

MultiMedQA provides datasets for multiple-choice questions and for longer responses to questions posed by medical professionals, and non-professionals. The dataset comprises clinical topics on;MedQA: Medical Questions and Answers

MedMCQA: Medical Multiple-Choice Question Answering

PubMedQA: Public Medline, The PubMed database contains more than 35 million citations and abstracts of biomedical literature. so in caveman terms PubMed data HUGE!

LiveQA: Live Question and Answering

MedicationQA: Medication Question and Answer

MMLU: Marsh Midwifery Led Units, so the AI can answer pregnancy-related questions

In the training, another very important part of it is PaLM, Pathways Language Model, which is trained on 540 billion parameters.

Here’s the medically trained PaLM answering medical questions

Hope you have a basic understanding of how it works now, obviously, the AI is trained on more complex data that it’ll literally take a freakishly long article to explain it all, so if you really want to dig into it, here are a couple of links

Enjoyyy!

Vibes Bytes

ChatGPT Banned on Chinese Social Media App WeChat

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been removed from the Chinese social media platform WeChat because the content belongs to the “unopened scope,” which means it is not accessible from Hong Kong or mainland China.

Montreal hospital planning to use AI to alleviate pressure on overcrowded ERs

The emergency room at the University of Montreal Hospital (CHUM) is changing as researchers roll out a new triage system using artificial intelligence

  • The AI system uses mass amounts of ER data to predict the patients' needs.

  • If all goes well, they'll be able to allocate resources to departments to receive patients before they arrive.

Avoiding bias

  • Artificial intelligence is only as smart as the data it is fed

  • If you already had infrastructure that was biased towards not providing services properly to one group versus another, then that bias will be amplified

  • A variety of healthcare professionals will be involved in reviewing the data as the system is tested

Eminem - Stan - But every line is an AI-generated Image

This is so sick, the channel in general is just a FIRE one!

Did you Know???

Did you know that:

In 2021, 73% of retailers planned to introduce AI to optimize their pricing.

(Source: Aiiot)

AI in retail statistics shows that 3/4 of retailers will use artificial intelligence to determine prices. Without the systems, it's hard for sellers to know when to rise costs, for instance, when there's an increase in seasonal demand.

So there you have it! The AI With Vibes newsletter. Hope you enjoyed it, any form of feedback is valuable!
